Jean Marie

Jean Marie is a top-down half-hexagon shawl designed for 3 colors of Sport or DK weight yarn. It uses simple knit, purl and slipped stitches to create three distinct textures- one for each color.  The result is a very wearable, warm shawl that sits nicely on the shoulders. It is also great for use with commercial or handspun yarn in a single solid, tonal or variegated yarn.

About the Name

I designed this shawl for my maternal grandmother, Jean Marie. She specifically requested something that would sit nicely over her shoulders and stay in place to keep her cozy all day. She wanted natural tones that would coordinate with anything she might wear and the undyed yarns from Ross Farm were just right.

My grandmother is the salt of the earth. She can be loving and sweet, funny and animated, or practical and headstrong. I designed this shawl to be practical and down to earth as she is, with rich texture to give it the warm feel of a hug from your Gram.7F88734E-396C-4272-9501-12D0F37E08DE
