Do you enjoy craft beer? Then you probably have a couple (or more) glass Growlers that you bring back and forth to the local brewery for refilling. After we broke a few in transport, my boyfriend decided the growlers needed cozies, and a new design was born.
The Brew Buddy is a fun, double-stranded crocheted Growler Cozy. It is worked all in single crochet & half double crochet (US Terms) with some basic increases and decreases to snugly fit your Growler and keep it cozy.
Sizing
The Brew Buddy fits a 64 oz standard Growler. 5 in diameter. 11 in tall.
Yarn
- Lion Brand Re-Up. 70g, 114 yards/104 meters (100% cotton)- held double throughouto Sample shown with Black 153, Ecru 098, Raspberry 112, Lilac, Aqua 102, Lime 170, Sunflower 158, Orange133 and Red 113.
- Sample used a total of 126g, 205 yards/187 meters
- The yarn is held double throughout to make it nice and squishy! The original calls for 1 main color, 1 color for the base and 7 contrast colors to stripe in, but you can work it up in any color combinations you can think of!
Hooks
- J/6.0 mm or one size smaller than gauge hook
- K/6.5 mm or size needed to obtain gauge
- L/8.0 mm or one size larger than gauge hook
Notes
- This pattern is worked in a continuous round. No need to slip stitch or chain 1 to start the next round.
- The pattern is written, not charted, and is formatted in a table which lists the round number, color used in that round, instructions, a checkbox to and stitch count at the end of the round.
