Brainstorming
I’d like to cast on another curl. Not sure yet which one. I have some Frog Tree Pediboo Sport weight yarn in a turquoise color that I think would be nice. Any suggestions?

Along with your Cast-On post must be a photo of the leftover/scrap yarns you will be using. You will keep one continual post through the KAL – updating with each new project and keeping track of total leftover / scrap yardage used.
We have opened a Chat Thread in Ravelry forum to discuss about project ideas. In Lisa’s first post I’ve linked to a number of different patterns that will work well for scraps. If you have other ideas, come chat in the thread and I’ll keep adding to the list.
Because I’m recording right before the contest ends, I am going to post the winners in the Ravelry Group so stayed tuned over there this week for details!

On a Happy Note
Easter in my family is always an adventure. This year was the first one for which I hid the kids eggs. The adults did a 6 pack swap!
My niece Riley and I had a girls day out for her birthday
First we visited my office.
Then it was off to the nail salon!
Then ICE CREAM!
When we got home she opened her leg warmers and showed them off to Uncle Dan.
Sunday morning we did home-manicures. With lots of glitter and jewels.

Welcoming the Stranger: Building Understanding Through Community Based Art is a site-specific artwork. As part of the installation, volunteer weavers and community participants will create a 50’ x 10’ weaving. City-wide weaving events will take place at locations throughout Portland, Maine from May 1 to June 15, 2015. This community weaving – “Abraham’s Tent” – will then be exhibited at the Maine Jewish Museum.
They are seeking donations of at least 42” lengths of yarn (handspun preferred) or other yarn – any gauge, any color, something meaningful to you. Non-traditional fiber materials will be accepted. Your yarn and a tag with your family’s country of origin will be “woven” into the panels in “Abraham’s Tent.”
Post an image of your yarn donation on the Prize Thread in the Abraham’s Tent Group on Ravelry.com. See Ravelry for details of prizes.
When: February 14 – April 30, 2015
What: Yarn – minimum of 42” lengths of yarn – any gauge, any color, non traditional materials accepted. Some Basics about the Woolly Trot 5K.
• Participants have 1 Week to complete their run or walk and submit their time. May 24-May 30
• There are no prizes based on speed of times, but prizes are going to be given by random number generator to those who submit their times.
• There are options on the funding site to grab some cool swag, such as T-shirts, Drawstring Backpacks, and Race Medals! – (More items will be added if there is a large draw for them such as water bottles, tumblers, coffee cups, keychains, etc)
• There options for sponsorship as well which is a great way to get some exposure for some fiber businesses.
Yarn: Malabrigo sock in the Light of Love Colorway
Needles: US 1 & 2
Pattern: none
Cast on 56 with US 1 needles. 2×2 ribbing. Switched to US 2’s. Increased to 60 and then 64 stitches. Did matching decreases before the ribbing on the other end.
Yarn: Bamboo Bloom Handpaints- bulky weight, rayon, wool, acrylic blend. Thick & thin. Mine is in the most gorgeous greens and blues and browns.
Pattern: Blooming Neckwarmer– simple design. drop slipped stitches. really shows off an interesting yarn like this
