Apple Picking may just be my very favorite day of the year. This year’s experience was even more fun because for the first time ever, all 7 of my nieces and nephews were there to join in on the fun. I love the orchard we go to (even though it seems to get busier each year) because in addition to apple picking they have cider donuts, animals to pet, tractor and pony rides, ice cream and delicious food (including a butternut squash soup that is, in and of itself, worth the 1+ hour drive there).
So here’s a sampling of my favorite moments of this year’s trip in photos and captions! Enjoy!
Garret is such a love bug. Millie doesn’t seem to be in the mood for hugging though
Despite the fact that it was 80+ degrees and everyone was sweaty, there were so many hugs! I swear nearly every time we turned around one kid was hugging another.
There was a Pie Eating Contest after we ate lunch! Will and Garret decided to play along!
Pie Eating!
Running out into the Orchard…
More hugs!
These apples are heavy!
Freshly Picked & Delicious
Aunties + cousins + hugs. So much love!
Family time!
All 7 nieces & nephews reasonably focused & happy in one shot! It’s an Apple Picking Miracle!
Will inspects Aila’s apples to ensure his sister is not putting any bruised ones in his bag.
Eskimos Kisses in the Orchard
So much love in these little ones!
Waiting patiently in the ice cream line. Aila was the best dressed picker there!
Ice Cream! Mint Chocolate Chip for… most of us anyways!
Ice cream melts quickly when its 83 degrees in late September… We may have been sweaty and tired at the end of the day but it was perfect!
