Bonnie Banks Shawl by Beatrice Perron Dahlen
- Visited for a fundraiser for a friend who is riding the Pan Mass Challenge (raise funds for cancer research)
- Night at the Brewseum- local brewers of beer and hard cider did tastings, raffles etc. Lots of fun. Also got to look around the museum. Not much in terms of fiber arts (at least in the current exhibit) but I loved the feel of the museum, they had beautiful pieces and I appreciate their definition of craft.

Crafty Adventures
Will and Aila sleepover this weekend. Aila got a loom for her birthday back in April. I play a clip of audio from Will and I talking about it in the car and then give an overview of it.
- Craftabelle– sold at Target but don’t see it on their website now. Found on Amazon for $40 (Org $60).
- Kit to make 1 pair of hand warmers. Box includes 1 frame loom, 1 yarn comb, 2 shed bars, 1 long plastic needle, 1 short metal needle, 1 shuttle, 4 bundles of yarn, 2 bundles elastic cord, 30 wooden beads, 2 buttons, 1 bundle embroidery floss. Box says for 8+ but after I warped it and showed Aila who just turned 6 she did well.
- Instructions are ok but not great.
On a Happy Note
- Chicken Soup Designs bag– LOVE it!
- Fitbit One= obsessed.
- White Birch Fiber Arts– Nothing Says Screw You Like a Rainbow and Electric Slide
- Aila and Oisin coming over to knit with me.
- Thankful for this amazing country we live in and for those who have fought and/or given their lives to protect the freedoms we all too often take for granted. To any of you out there who have served in the armed forces or supportive those who have. Thank you!
I am a firm believer that every few years one needs to shake one’s life through a sieve, like a miner in the Yukon. The gold nuggets remain, the rest falls through the soft earth it is.

Help! My daughter (who is 8) bought the craftabelle weaving kit for her birthday in January and has been working off and on since on the weaving part of the gloves. She finished this morning and is ready for the next step, but we can’t find the instructions anywhere! Any chance you could email a picture of them to me? We would be so grateful! I have scoured the Web looking for them, tried calling the company (where I got a full voice mail message) and also tried to find instructions other places. I am not a weaver, and am struggling to help her. Please, please help us! Thanks!
